The European Development Days will be held in Stockholm, Sweden, on 22-24 October, 2009.
This year, special highlight will be given to the adaption to climate change, the promotion of energy efficiency, the global economic.recession and democracy.

The European Platform of local and regional government is born

The European Platform of local and regional government for development was launched on 16 November 2008 to a packed audience on the occasion of the European Development Days, in Strasbourg.It is made of a number of partners (associations, local authorities...), and will provide an organised structure for dialogue between the local/regional authorities and the institutions, and in particular the European Commission.

Set up new twinning partnerships at European Development Days

Local authorities from the 27 EU Member States are invited to conclude new twinning partnerships to be signed at a ceremony during the EU Development Days, on 15-17 November 2008, in Strasbourg.
This year's EU.Development Days will be dedicated to "local authorities and development". At the centre of the discussions will be the local dimension of development cooperation and implementation of the Millennium Development Goals in particular. Emphasis will be given to to access to basic services such as education, health and drinking water. -
EU Development Days: three days of experience-sharing between local government North and South

Local authorities and development: this will be the central theme of the 3rd European Development Days (EDD) organised in Strasbourg, at the European Parliament, from 15 to 17 November 2008.The three-day conference will be organised in several sessions on issues such as Local governance and Millennium Development Goals, Territories and sustainable economic development, or Local governance, participation and citizens empowerment.
